I have just received this email update:
We're in Kunming!!!! I am writing this at 12:28 am Friday. Our hotel is quite nice. The flights were (dare I say this) not as bad as I thought they would be.
The last 90 minutes of our final flight was the hardest. Our bodies are exhausted. We've been awake since 4:15 am Wednesday morning.
Xuilan (our agency guide) and her husband picked us up at the airport and brought us back to the hotel. She's a corker. I think we're going to do just fine together. She will be here at 10:00 tomorrow morning to show us around, so am going to sign off.
Still on course for meeting Ella on Sunday! This doesn't feel real, by the way. Just in case you think I'm sounding all calm, cool and collected.

We are so excited for you! For the last couple of days I keep stopping through the day and thinking, "What time is it in China now? What are Heather and Larry doing just now?" Isn't it exhausting and numbing and thrilling and surreal, all at the same time? I had a hard enough time just really grasping that I was actually on the other side of the world, let alone that we would be parents at last very, very soon.
ReplyDeleteKnow that you are in our thoughts and prayers. (And did you know that Katie has both of the photos of Ella from this site displayed on the litte "Shrine" she has to her family in the hospital?) It is all real. And remember...breathe!
Love,
Marie
H&L - I have butterflies in my stomach for you....holding my breath...remembering the moment when I laid eyes on each of my children for the very first time and knowing how much you will always treasure that moment.
ReplyDeleteGrethen - thanks for keeping us all updated. Wondering how Lana is handling all of this knowing how much she loves and adores "HER" Heather and Larry.
Can't wait for the next post!

Heather, real trouble without you at the office. Do the paid invoices go to the back or the front of the file folder? Do the checkmarks go before the invoice number or after the purchase order number? LOL. Really happy for both of you!
