As we anxiously await the next batch of referrals in the coming month, our life continues on. And a very big part of our life includes our extended family. At about 1:19 this morning, a very sweet young man entered this world. Isaac Thomas weighed in at 6 lbs 14 ozs and 20 inches long. He is healthy. His mother is doing great. Uncle Larry and Auntie Feather are ecstatic to have another beautiful person in our midst.
So congrats to our friends Sarah, Ron and Big Sister Ava as they start down a new path as a family of four. We are thankful.

Disappointment
For the last week, we've been telling friends and family that we might know more about the adoption as soon as "next week."
Well, it's "next week," and we know more, and to be blunt about it, we're not happy. This next round of referrals will include those with a log-in date up through 3/28/06, falling one day short of including us. This is so tantalizingly close, yet completely out of our control.
On top of the emotional roller coaster, we now need to maneuver through additional paper work. We are faced with the possibility of a home study renewal and even the transfer to another adoption agency. We hope to avoid both, but the timing will be critical. The good news? It seems inevitable that we will be in the NEXT batch. Christmas in Beijing, anyone?
